Following their recent Q Award nomination for Ideal Breakthrough Act and dates supporting Jimmy Eat Globe, The Amazons’ upwards momentum continues with the news that their brand new track ‘Little Something’ has been selected as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the Globe. The quartet will embark on a UK tour this spring, calling at Birmingham’s newest venue Mama Roux’s on Tues 11th April 2017.

Made by Catherine Marks (Wolf Alice, Foals, The Vaccines), ‘Little Something’ elevates the clash of melody and aggression that simmered in The Amazons’ earlier single ‘In My Mind’. It begins with an ominous air of moody atmospherics ahead of erupting into a fiery ball of power following a dynamic breakdown that inspires chaos when the band performs it live.

Nonetheless in their early twenties, the band hit upon their current sound after getting inspired by a Foals gig at Alexandra Palace in 2014 which shifted their perception of what a modern rock band could be. They focused their energies on their early influences – Rage Against The Machine, Nirvana and Led Zeppelin – and their music evolved to become heavy, loud and primal.
